Yes, the light was great – and globe thistles are always good photography subjects. But I especially like the dried grasses that “mix up” the composition. There’s tension between the linear grass and the round flowers. (Not to mention all the depth) And to me, an easterner new to the west, that grass is very western. We have similar grasses in the east but they’re not such a dominant feature.
