While I was in Pasadena in May I loved seeing the flowering Blue Jacaranda all over the city. On a visit to the hills of Rancho Palos Verdes one day I was disappointed at first that the Jacaranda were not yet in bloom. Later in the evening, though, I thought the silhouette of this tree with its feathery leaves was quite beautiful.

Jacarandas are one of the jewels of Pasadena (craftsman houses, another).

I agree — love the architectural detail of the craftsman style. Thanks very much for stopping by.

Hi, Rona, just visiting for the first time after detecting your “like” on one of my own posts. This is a wonderful piece of work. Subtle tonal changes take your eye all over the image. I think the silhouetting contains more mystery than anything that could be “shown” in a standard daylight exposure. Nice nice work.
