Yes, I think you’re right about the scent; this hybrid’s scent was undetectable. This was one of a group of about seven or eight roses at The Huntington that have yet to be identified. Recently it was discovered that over the years some roses were misidentified. The process of sorting through the beds and identifying each plant is ongoing.
